Diesel Mechanic
Dustrol Inc. is a 100% employee-owned asphalt contractor in Ft. Worth, Texas that designs, builds, maintains, and modifies its own custom-made equipment for use on Cold Milling and Hot-In-Place asphalt recycling projects. Established in 1973, we have had continued success growing our footprint throughout the Midwest. We are currently seeking a full-time Diesel Mechanic to support the Texas Division in Ft. Worth, Texas. This position plays a key role in keeping our equipment operational both in the shop and in the field, and requires the ability to work at various project locations as part of daily operations.
Candidates must be willing to learn new tasks, take pride in the quality of their work, and be comfortable performing repairs and maintenance at job sites as operational needs require.
Pay: Based on Experience
Job Details:
Perform major and minor repairs on engines, transmissions/clutches, differentials, fuel systems, air systems, and hydraulic systems.
Perform efficient diagnostics on electronic controls and components.
Operate and inspect machines and ensure they meet or exceed DOT standards.
Perform preventative maintenance and sample-based repairs.
Foundation repairs, brakes, suspension, steering, and drivelines.
Repair custom-built equipment under guidance of Shop Foreman.
Support equipment maintenance and repair efforts at project locations as part of normal job responsibilities.
Work with Shop Foreman to identify and complete additional repair needs.
Ensure equipment and vehicles are maintained in safe, serviceable condition.
Job Qualifications:
Repair experience with and without manuals.
A technical degree or certification is a plus but not required.
Experience working with air brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Experience in preventive maintenance of diesel engines.
Manage jobs efficiently and in a timely manner.
Must be able to communicate repair updates to management and complete daily work orders and timecards.
Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently.
Job Requirements:
Minimum two years’ experience preferred.
Must have tools to support general Class 8 truck and trailer repairs.
Travel to active job sites is a regular component of this position to support equipment operations and maintenance needs, including the possibility of overnight travel depending on project location and workload.
Must be able to lift, push, or carry objects of 50 lbs on a continual basis.
Regularly work near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that may include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and asphalt.
